The price of BTC was down by $ 1400 in minutes after the crash of the leading US cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase.
Coinbase firstly mentioned that they are investigating the problem where the API and the website not working in a proper way at 1:47 PDT on the official website.
At 2:13 PDT Coinbase announced that the problem is detected and they are working on fixing it, at 2:38 PDT the problem recovered and one of Cointelegraph reporters checked out his Coinbase account to confirm that the site was working.
The crash follows the day's rise in which BTC exceeded the price limit of $ 12,000 and $ 13,000 within hours. During the time of writing the article BTC seems to be recovering slightly from the drop, rising 0.71% in the past hour and still up by 9.48% during the day, according to the data from Coinmarketcap. BTC currently trading at $12,690.
