The Philippines disaster control agency said today, Monday, that the death toll from Typhoon "Goni" that struck the country yesterday has risen to 16.
The agency said in a statement that the strong winds and torrential rains associated with the hurricane caused floods that killed 10 people in the Albay region and 6 others in Catanduanes.
