The sister of the Portuguese football star, Cristiano Ronaldo, took the initiative to defend him, after Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk made a sarcastic statement from the "Don," during the Ballon d'Or award ceremony in France.
On Monday, Lionel Messi of Argentina won the world's best player award, winning the sixth Ballon d'Or in his career, followed by Van, in second place.
Since Ronaldo finished third, Van Dijk was asked, in an interview, whether he had eliminated a strong rival from the Current Juventus player, but Van replied in a sarcastic tone and Was Ronaldo a competitor in the first place?
Dear Van, we know Ronaldo won't win the Ballon d'Or tonight, wrote Katya, Ronaldo's 34-year-old sister, on her Instagram page. But where you go, Cristiano has already gone a thousand times."
She continued: "Yes, Van, Ronaldo has been crowned champion in the country where you play - England - three times, and you have been playing there for years and years, but you have not yet achieved this."
"Ronaldo was able to win the title of best player and the best scorer in the country where you play, and by the way, I was younger than you when he achieved that achievement," she said.
In response to Van, she noted that Ronaldo had moved elsewhere and was able to become the best player as well, then added ,Can I tell you something, Van? Did he tell you about Real Madrid's victory over Liverpool in the Champions League final, when Ronaldo was one of the royal team players?
Ronaldo's sister pointed at Van, saying, When you can win the titles Ronaldo has accumulated to this day, then you can sit at the same table, until we talk.
Ronaldo joined Juventus in 2018-19 in a deal worth an estimated €100 million.
Despite being crowned the best in Serie A, Ronaldo finished third in the Ballon d'Or standings, behind Messi and Dutch side Virgil van Dijk.
Messi won the Ballon d'Or for the sixth time in his history, continuing to break records, having had a distinguished season with his team Barcelona, and led the team to win the La Liga championship.
