Medical study reveals "disturbing" thing in Starbucks drink

The drink contains a large percentage of sugar

A British study has revealed a "disturbing" thing in some of the beverages offered by the American very popular coffee chain Starbucks, given their sweet and refreshing taste.

According to the CNN website, the study, prepared by the Public Health Authority in Britain, warned of the very high level of sugar in some drinks provided by companies such as Starbucks and Costa.

This warning applies in particular to the hot chocolate drink served with "cream" and oat milk, and the study reported that it contains the equivalent of 23 tablespoons of sugar, or 758 calories, if the capacity of the cup to 590 ml.

Not only does Starbucks and chocolate drink, it also applies to so-called ginger bread latte because it contains the equivalent of 14 tablespoons of sugar, or 523 calories.

The UK health authority is betting on reducing sugar consumption by more than 20 percent by 2020. But the study found that some coffee shops increased sweetness in some beverages compared to previous years, even if Costa Coffee, for example, achieved significant progress and received a healthy tribute.

The health authority is urging Britain to expand the tax to include sweetened milk drinks, especially as the country spends a lot of money to fight obesity and the resulting serious health disorders.
