Forbes magazine has ranked the tennis star Serena Williams as the highest-paid athlete in the world in 2019, according to an annual ranking published on Tuesday.
Serena, the winner of 23 major titles, won $29.2 million over the 12 months to June, including $2.4 million in prize money, the U.S. magazine said.
Japan's Naomi Osaka, who came to the spotlight in 2018, finished second to Serena in the Flushing Meadows final, with $24.3 million, and Germany's Angelique Kerber third with 11.8 million dollars against Romanian Simona Halep in fourth place winning Wimbledon this month. Last.
