Mark Weston, creative director of dunhill, said: "I wanted to combine elegance and sobriethy on the one hand with the delicate sensibility and provocative design on the other, in a streamlined and relaxed style. Dunhill is never compromised on rigour, from dimensions to fabrics, cut and fine details."

"The group needs to be well thought out, as it hides a lot of details," Weston said. I wanted to break up Japanese design, specifically the one in the 1980s, and its entanglement with the casual fashion culture of Britain. Our goal is not to emulate that method, but to delve into the secrets of the conflict of these two cultures again today on a global scale."

The 1980s saw Japanese culture invade Britain, regardless of class classifications. With dunhill's delicate sensibility evolving and the brand's pertination of the mainstream tradition, Mark Weston has launched the Spring/Summer 2020 collection.

Wide, strappy cuts replace the classic blazer with two buttons, with a classic Japanese sensibility. The traditional Japanese kimono style dominated the cuts, and the trousers with slit edges were sometimes coordinated with shorts, adding a slender and unusual touch to the designs.

Graphic elegance is reflected in a collection of silk and wool pieces, evening costumes, t-shirts and engravings. The coats are luxurious and functional, including a two-sided leather coat, a rolla' padded coat and a glossy acetate barca.
