Huawei's board member and vice president of the company, Catherine Chen, revealed that Hongmeng's operating system of the Chinese company is not for smartphones.
Chen pointed out that "Huawei" is determined to continue to use the operating system, "Android" from Google to its smart phones, according to the Chinese news agency "Xinhua."
Chen said at a press conference in Brussels that "Hongming" is not designed for smart phones, noting that it is designed for industrial use.
"While operating systems typically have tens of millions of lines of code, Hongming has fewer, hundreds of thousands, so it's very secure, and the Hongming system has a very low latency compared to smart phone operating systems," Chen said.
She said: "In recent years, Huawei has become a global leader in the sale of consumer gadgets such as Android smartphones. The company plans to move forward with Android."
