Nagoro, like any other quiet riverside village in southern Japan, looks from afar, and sees elderly residents tending their gardens and families waiting patiently at a bus stop. Everything seems normal... until you realize that most of these “people” are not human.

The Cotton-Stuffed dolls is the brainchild of Tsukimi Ayano, a handicraft hobbyist who returned to the village in 2002.
