Police officers in Australia did not expect to find a huge amount of drugs in an easy way, even without much effort.
In details reported by CNN on Friday, police officers were sitting as a repeater at their center in the northeastern province of New South Wales.
Suddenly, they heard a loud bang, discovering that a pickup truck had collided with two police cars in front of the station and had fled.
After a simple prosecution based on cameras and witness statements, Australian police were able to find the truck and its driver, who was acting suspiciously.
When inspected, it was found to be packed with large quantities of Methamphetamine weighing 273 kilograms and valued at about $145 million.
According to CNN information, the incident occurred last July, but the details were revealed this month, with a court sentencing convicted 26-year-old Simon Tu to six years in prison for transporting banned drugs.
Australian Police Investigator Glyn Baker said the man involved in the case was very lucky, saying "it's been a very bad day."
He added that the collision of a truck with such a quantity of drugs was unusual or very exceptional.
"This would be one of the easiest drugs busts that NSW Police has ever made -- incredible, absolutely incredible," Baker added, according to CNN correspondent.
