A man tried to threaten U.S. protesters in Newport Beach, California, with his weapon, but someone took his "scary" photo, prompting police to search for him and arrest him.
Authorities arrested the man after a video of him holding a gun in the face of protesters over the killing of George Floyd, an African-American George Floyd, who died after a violent police stand in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Travis White, 48, was arrested after the video spread with his gun waving to the protesters.
Witnesses said White, who works as a realtor, engaged in verbal altercations with some protesters before he brandished his weapon, CBS News reported.
One of the protesters, Chia Musimi, said that White shouted at them, saying, "The lives of black people are not important," using the same words as the protest slogan, which says "black lives are important."
"Then he took out his pistol and made him famous in the face, which made me hide behind a car," Chia added.
As for Chris Marty, he explained that the man "directed his gun at us without saying anything, and he seemed afraid after that, so he fled and went into hiding" without firing shots.
And the police explained that "White was accused of carrying out criminal threats and assaulting a deadly weapon."
Police confirmed that White had posted hate posts on his account on Facebook, and in one of his posts he mentioned: "I hope that the citizens of Newport Beach and Costa Mia will unite together and take up their weapons to flush out the scum from our city."
