The number of deaths from the coronavirus in the world rose Wednesday to 2,762, the majority of them in China, where the virus first appeared last December.
The latest data showed that the number of people confirmed to be infected with the coronavirusworldwide exceeded 81,000 people, while more than 30,000 others have recovered from the virus so far.

First infection in Greece
The Greek Ministry of Health has announced the first infection with the novel coronavirus, a 38-year-old woman, who recently traveled to Italy.
"The patient is in a good health condition" and is being treated in a hospital in Thessaloniki, the second Greek city, in the north of the country, the ministry's spokesman, Sotiris Tsiordas, told a press conference carried by local media.
12 deaths in Italy
The head of the Italian Civil Protection Agency said that a man had died in the north of the country, due to the coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths in Italy to 12, while the number of confirmed cases increased to 376, up more than 50 compared to the previous day.
19 deaths in Iran
Iran has announced four new deaths among people infected with the novel coronavirus, out of 44 new cases recorded during the past 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 19 cases and infections to 139.
Fifteen new HIV infections were recorded in Qom, nine in Gilan, four in Tehran, three in Khuzestan, and two in Sistan and Baluchistan.
26 infections in Kuwait
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health said that the number of people infected with coronavirus in the country rose to 26 cases. The ministry confirmed in a statement that "the new cases are for citizens associated with traveling to Iran."
The death of the first Frenchman
The French Ministry of Health has announced the death of the first French national after he infected with the novel coronavirus in Paris, noting that he was sixty years old.
In total, 17 cases of this virus have been registered in France, five of them since Tuesday. In addition to the deceased last night, an eighty Chinese tourist died on February 14.
German is in critical condition
Authorities in western Germany have declared that a person with the coronavirus is in critical condition, and has been transferred to a specialized hospital in Dusseldorf.
The man was taken to hospital for the first time on Monday, after suffering serious pneumonia in the town of Erkelenz, near the Dutch border, the Ministry of Health in NorthRhine-Westphalia said.
Algeria: No air suspension
An official at the Algerian Ministry of Health said that his country is not considering suspending flights, but it will strengthen supervision of aircraft coming from Italy, after it was confirmed that an Italian had been infected with coronavirus, as the first case of infection in the country.
Jamal Fouar told a press conference in the capital that the authorities are following the situation of everyone who was in contact with the 61-year-old man, who arrived in Algeria on February 17 and was living in the southern Ouargla region, which is the center of the energy industry.
