Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdul Aziz has called on leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to confront Iran's hostilities.
King Salman said at the opening of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit in Riyadh on Tuesday: "Our region today is going through circumstances and challenges that call for concerted efforts to confront it, as theIranian regime continues its hostile actions to undermine security and stability."
In a televised address, he also urged the international community to deal with Iran's nuclear program and its ballistic missileprogram.
King Salman said the GULF Cooperation Council (GCC) has managed to overcome the crises that have passed through the region, calling on gulf states to "Unite in the face of Iran's aggression" and "Believe in itself in the face of possible ballistic missile attacks."
The Saudi capital hosted the 40th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit at the invitation of King Salman to discuss a number of topics and issues that will enhance the process of cooperation and integration among member states in various political, defense, security, economic and social fields, as well as To present regional and international political developments and the reflection of the security situation in the region on the GCC countries.
The GCC foreign ministers held the 145th session of the Ministerial Council at the Headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh, the preparatory session was chaired by UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash, and the participation of GCC Secretary General Abdullatif Al Zayani.
During the meeting, the foreign ministers discussed the topics on the agenda of the preparatory session, including the secretariat's report on what was implemented on the resolutions of the Supreme Council, the Ministerial Council, and what was achieved in the framework of integration and cooperation in the gulf joint work process, in addition to the reports and recommendations submitted by the competent councils, ministerial committees and the secretariat in preparation for its lifting to the 40th session of guidance.
