The "TikTok" short video app has continued to hit stunning figures in 2019, and has downloaded more than 1.5 billion times on Apple and Google stores, according to a recent report by the statistical site Sensor Tower.

The Chinese app has become the third most out-of-gaming app in terms of downloads, beating Instagram and Facebook.

The report attributed TikTok's superiority to the boom in its user base in India, where Indians accounted for 31 percent of its global population, followed by China with 11.5 percent and the United States with 8.2 percent.

The application, which appeared only three years ago, in the third quarter of 2019 received more than 176 million downloads in Google Play and App Store stores, although these figures do not include what was downloaded through other app stores in China.

TikTok poses a major threat to Facebook specifically due to its popularity among teenagers, which Facebook seeks to target more, and it is the only application that Facebook does not have in the Group of 5, which includes (WhatsApp, Messenger, Tech Talk, Instagram and Facebook).
