A woman who was hiking her dog was killed in a forest in northern France when she was attacked by dogs taking a hunting trip, a judicial source said Tuesday.
The cause of the 29-year-old woman's death in the Rits forest, about 150 km from the Belgian border, was "due to bleeding caused by several dog bites in the upper and lower extremities as well as the head," Soissons's prosecutor Frederic Tran said in a statement.
"Samples taken from 93 dogs who were participating in a hunting trip ... were organized nearby," the prosecution said.
The prosecution said the aim was to "identify the dog or dogs that bitten the woman," explaining that the bites "came before and after death."
The victim was pregnant and contacted her husband to inform him of the presence of "dangerous dogs" when she was walking her dog, as reported.
