After she tweets a greeting to Muslims around the world on the occasion of "Eid al-Adha," The President's daughter, Ivanka Trump, received a stinging attack on social media, reminding her of her father's hardline policy after the decision to ban Muslim citizens from traveling to the United States.

Ivanka wrote on her Twitter account: "Mubarak's Holiday for Muslims around the world celebrating Eid al-Adha! I wish you health, happiness and joy."

But the responses to Ivanka, who serves as an adviser to President Donald Trump, came as a surprise, with one Twitter user sarcastically commenting, "From the administration that has banned Muslims from entering, I wish you health, happiness and joy as long as you are elsewhere."

Another wrote: "Your father is a fanatic against Muslims of all nationalities. Your duality is rude."

Republican Senator David Weissman, who was a Trump supporter before he became a Democrat, commented, "If you have that feeling, encourage your father to end the Muslim ban."

Another Twitter follower said that Ivanka's allegation was "crude."

Since seeking the presidency, Trump has adopted a speech that appeared anti-Muslim, and during his campaign, he called for "a complete and complete ban on Muslims entering the United States."

Trump issued an executive order in January 2017 temporarily banning citizens of Muslim-majority countries-- Iraq, Libya, Iran, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen -- on the grounds of "protecting Americans from terrorist attacks," sparking popular and legal controversy inside and outside the United States.

After protracted legal battles, the latest version of the supreme court-ups ban applies to citizens of Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen.
