Saudi Arabia announced on Monday, the application of additional health precautions in a number of residential neighborhoods in the holy city of Mecca, and to apply curfews.

the Saudi news agency SPA quoted a source in the Ministry of Interior as saying "In light of the health recommendations submitted by the authorities concerned with strengthening precautionary measures and measures to limit the spread of the new coronavirus in the Kingdom, and to preserve the health and safety of citizens and residents, it has been decided to implement additional health precautionary measures in a number of residential neighborhoods in the holy city of Mecca."

The source pointed out that these measures include isolating the neighborhoods of Ajyad, Masafi, Masfalah, Al-Hujun, Al-Nukseh and Hosh Bakr, and preventing entry or exit from them and applying curfews throughout the day 24 hours, as of three o'clock on Monday, March 30, 2020 until further notice.

The precautionary measures included allowing residents of the aforementioned neighborhoods to leave their homes for the necessary needs such as (health care and catering) within the isolation zone during the period from six in the morning until three in the afternoon.

The source continued, saying: "All activities authorized to perform its duties continue during the curfew times in all healthy isolated neighborhoods, in the strictest limits and in accordance with the procedures and controls determined by the concerned authority."

The source concluded his speech by saying that the Ministry of Interior has taken these measures in the framework of the Kingdom's efforts to preserve public health by preventing the spread of the coronavirus, and that it is subject to continuous evaluation with health authorities, urging everyone to sense their individual responsibilities by adhering to and adhering to isolation measures to achieve the public interest.
