A passenger plane was forced to make an emergency landing shortly after taking off on a flight between two Kenyan cities, after one of its tires fell.
The incident took place on Monday after a Silverstone Air plane took off from Lodwar airport in northwest Kenya for the capital Nairobi, CNN reported.
But the fall of the wheel prompted the pilot to make an emergency landing at the nearby Eldoret airport, the company said in a statement that "the measure was preventive. The plane landed safely."
Later, passengers were flown by plane to the Kenyan capital.
An airline spokeswoman declined to say how many passengers were on board, saying the airline was still investigating the incident.
The incident comes weeks after a similar plane slid off the runway, colliding with trees around the airport, injuring several passengers.
